Mussel Memory

One of the latest interesting finds from our pond project.

Our August Community Workday was the Big Pond Dig and saw a small, focused team finally pull up the last of all the layers of felt, old carpet and pond liner to reveal the sand-lined bare earth sides of the pit dug for originally dug for the pond over 20 years ago.

The task unearthed some interesting finds along the way including an old, entirely intact glass bovril jar, a clay pipe and one of our volunteer team, Cara, found an old Swan Mussel!! Come along to our workday on September 27th to see what you can find!
